Kamwokya: Residents of Kamwokya, now have access to improved sanitation facilities, thanks to a partnership between the government and international NGO, Water Aid. For over 10 years, the organization has been bringing together people in health and education and put taps and toilets at the heart of hospitals and schools. The project has brought a significant change in the community. “We are grateful to Water Aid for the support they have given us in improving access to clean water and sanitation in Kamwokya. The community now has improved sanitation facilities that are being used and maintained properly,” said a local resident.
Chris Tumwine, a Community Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) advocate states that this project is part of Water Aid’s larger efforts to improve access to clean water and sanitation in Uganda and other developing countries, with the ultimate goal of achieving universal access to these basic human rights.
