Community water and Sanitation open forums

Public service delivery in Uganda has been greatly affected by ineffective monitoring and weak accountability mechanisms, especially with respect to beneficiaries holding service providers accountable. A key component of the Community WASH open forum is a set of localized public consultative gatherings that are organized at regular intervals at the village, sub-county or district level. These forums do have an impact on service delivery in the Water, Sanitation and Health sector, supporting interventions on information sharing and community participation through deliberation and developing action plans on critical matters.

WASH and Environment Data Project

The WASH and Environment Data Project is a comprehensive initiative that aims to provide accurate and up-to-date data on water, sanitation, health and hygiene (WASH) and environmental issues in Uganda. The project will provide valuable insights and information to decision-makers, stakeholders, and the general public on the state of WASH and environmental issues. It also provides a platform for the collection of data from various sources, which can be used to track progress and monitor the impact of interventions. The project helps to raise awareness and educate the public on the importance of WASH and environmental issues, and provides practical solutions to improve these issues in Uganda. The project supports the development of evidence-based policies, programs and interventions, through capacity building, training and mentorship for local communities and organizations in data collection, analysis and dissemination.

The Climate Change Adaptation programme is a community-based initiative that aims to address the impacts of climate change on water, sanitation, health and hygiene (WASH) and environmental conservation in Uganda. The program will work closely with communities to identify their specific needs and challenges in relation to climate change and WASH, and will then develop and implement tailored adaptation strategies to address these issues. The program will focus on building the capacity of communities to adapt to the impacts of climate change, through training and mentorship on topics such as water management, sanitation, and environmental conservation. The program will also promote collaboration and partnerships between communities, local government and other stakeholders to ensure that adaptation strategies are sustainable and effective. It will also help to raise awareness and educate the public on the importance of WASH and environmental conservation in the context of climate change and how they can take action
